The teachers and staff at the Districtwide Early Childhood Hub are focused on supporting all children and families, through a continuum of child-focused services that are aligned to meet the unique needs of every child and family from birth through age 5. Whether you are interested in connecting with other parents of young children, learning more about your child's development, or attending Pre-K, the SPPS Districtwide Early Childhood Hub has much to offer!
Pre-Kindergarten
Saint Paul Public Schools Pre-Kindergarten prepares each child and family for Kindergarten by providing an academically rigorous early childhood education aligned with the district’s K-12 standards-based instructional model.
Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE)
Early Childhood Family Education’s (ECFE) mission is to strengthen families through education and support of all parents through providing the best possible environment for the healthy growth and development of their children. ECFE provides education in child development and parent/child relationships which sets the stage for children’s school success.
Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE)
The 3-5 year old program provides services for children aged 3-5 who have qualified for special education services until Kindergarten. Eligibility is determined after an evaluation is completed. An IEP (Individualized Education Plan) is created with the family to support student needs.
Services can be provided in a variety of settings:
- Specialized services are available in our half and full day Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) classrooms.
- Special education services are also available for students attending Pre-K and ECFE classes.
